Black Sand Diva - Blue Eyed Girls
Jazz/funk/ soul/ rock fusion group Black Sand Diva combine the stomping rhythm section of Dave Hodkinson & Jason Orme (Mojave) the colourful pallette of keyboardist Kiri Kainamu Wheeler, the traditional jazz/blues inspired grooves of guitarist Joel Vinsen, with the songwriting and strong sultry vocals of Piha based Cat Tunks - to create a unique sound organic to the wild west coast.
Forming in only June last year, the group has already gained much momentum all over the country and has headlined at Waitangi, Titirangi Festival of Music and is a guest at next years Nelson Wooleston Jazz Festival.
Black Eyed Girls is their Amplifier debut.
