Mandrill

Glyn Tucker was a leading figure in NZ music, pioneering and supporting a fledgling industry for more than 20 years.

Following an early career as a singer/songwriter in The Gremlins (1965 - 1968) he founded Mandrill Recording Studios in Auckland, 1975, and produced and engineered hundreds of Kiwi tracks.

Mandrill produced 15 gold and 3 platinum albums throughout the 70's and 80's, including artists Dave Dobbyn, Shona Laing, Suzanne Prentice, Kiri TeKanawa, Citizen Band, The Crocodiles, Mockers, Dance Exponents, David Hasselhoff, and many others.

Record labels Mandrill and Reaction were set up and run by Tucker (Reaction, in association with Trevor Reekie) and released some iconic Kiwi recordings that include, Citizen Band, Alastair Riddell, The Crocodiles, The Mockers, and Mark Loveys' Satellite Spies.

The studio business was sold in 1995, and the labels ceased to record new material. Now, after 16 years or more Glyn has re-mastered these lost gems from the original master tapes and through his company GTM made them available again through DRM.
