Obit. Phil Fuemana
Amplifier this morning received an e-mail from Phil Fuemana's sister informing us that Phil, a noted producer and musician, passed away at his home last night (28.02.05).
Phil was a long time supporter of our site and had ensured that the many talented artists that he worked with through his company Urban Pacifika were represented on Amplifier. He had been in contact with us only last week as one of his musicians, Dina, had appeared on Top of the Pops after being found through Amplifier.
The Fuemana family were one of the pioneers of an urban Pacific musical legacy that has seen Pacific artists become a major force in the NZ music industry. He was part of ground breaking hip-hop crew OMC.
We would like to extend our condolences to Phil's family and friends. Funeral details will be posted as they come to hand.
