OpenSouls, one million dollars and Sugarlicks - Straight No Chaser please

It's not unusual for NZ music to receive good reviews overseas these days.  What is a bit more unique is two great reviews for 2 kiwi vinyl releases coming out in the same publication.

The influential U.K. based Straight No Chaser magazine (Vol. 2, Issue 29) has given the OpenSouls 7" Turn it Up and the Sugarlicks 2017 Pacific Ultrasound Vol. 1 12" great reviews with one million dollars' Get Off (Manuel Bundy Mix) being singled out for comment.

Referring to Turn it Up, Straight No Chaser, described the track as a low-down grinding funk burner and highlighted the fact that even though vocalist Tyra Hammond is still a teenager that she sounds like an accomplished veteran.

They described Get Off as being an acoustic folk/hip-hop/reggae hybrid featuring some pretty impressive hearfelt vocals.  The 12" also features tracks by Murk 108, Jahlicious and Ekadek who's Love In your Eyes was described as a double-bass heavy, bluesy, dub stepper.
