The Phoenix Foundation to play Exclusive Gig at the Creek!

04.03.09
Butterfly Creek is pleased to launch its new concert series Live at the Creek with an exclusive garden bar party featuring The Phoenix Foundation with special guests.
The concert will take place in a stunning bedouin style tent overlooking the picturesque wetlands area at Butterfly Creek and will have a strictly limited capacity.
Wellington 6 piece, The Phoenix Foundation, have taken the NZ music scene by storm with gold album sales, an acclaimed soundtrack to cult kiwi movie Eagle vs Shark, 5 star reviews and a rapidly filling awards cabinet. From intelligent and infectiously catchy pop/rock gems to pulsing, epic, psychedelic, prog rock, The Phoenix Foundation's music fuses a number of different genres to create a sound and style that is truly distinct and fresh.
The Phoenix Foundation's 3rd studio album, Happy Endings was described by Nick Bollinger (National Radio/The Listener) as ''simply one of the best things I have heard all year... from anywhere".
Concert goers will be able to explore Butterfly Creek before the band takes to the stage and are encouraged to check out the worlds heaviest bug, New Zealands' own Giant Weta, wetapunga, in the new Bugs About exhibit. Part of the proceeds from this event will be contributing to the 'rear and release' programme the centre manages in association with the Department of Conservation.
The VIP after-party will be in the Papillon Bar and will feature DJ Andrew Tidball (Cheese on Toast, Quay St Social Club resident DJ) and extended opening hours, plus the chance to mingle with the artists after the show.
