Dylan Storey Tour

07.07.09
[press release]

Dylan Storey and his band of musical men and women will be coming to a town near you in July to celebrate the release of the forthcoming new Album Out of the Soup.

This band consists of musicians of fine pedigree including Scott Mason (Gasoline Cowboy, Slim), Brendan Turner (Karen Hunter band, Andy Gibson band, jazz session player), and Reb Fountain (a legend in her own right).

Such a group of musicians and personalities collectively facilitates a live act like none other in the country. Vocal harmonies, psychedelic interludes, instrumental trade-offs and liberal use of fuzz combine to give a singular musical experience. Unashamedly influenced by 70s monster rock as well as modern alternative rock and country rock, Storey and band take you down a path less travelled but often hummed on a cold dark night.

Out of the Soup is Storey's second album (not counting a bedroom recorded, independent first effort), and finest to date. It features the playing and singing of many of New Zealand's fine artists as well as high end production from York Street Studios. Exploring themes of historical events, discoveries and ideas it presents an abstract yet cohesive representation of the meanderings of a modern atheist armchair philosopher.

Reb Fountain will be playing a solo set as support for each of the tour shows.
